Roles-based access controls
Role-based controls allow you to grant people access to administrative and reporting views, enabling:
- Improved personalization
and efficiency. Customize role-based access to fit your organization’s structure.
- Expanded dashboard access. Choose from 3 new roles to empower diverse teams.
- Enhanced access control. Tailor access permissions for individuals in your organization, so they see only what they need.
Roles available
- Administrator: Manages user access within an account, including adding or removing users, creating programs, implementing restrictions, overseeing payments, and reviewing payment history.
- Coordinator: Requests and monitors rides and meals, creates vouchers, and tracks usage in the Uber Health and Central dashboards on behalf of guests, employees, or patients.
- Reviewer: Receives automated weekly reports via email, reviews and approves assigned trips (can also request more information on these trips).
- Sustainability Manager: Has exclusive access to the Uber for Business sustainability dashboard.
Set up role-based access
To assign roles to new people in your organization:
- Go to the People tab in the Uber for Business dashboard
- Select Add to create a new user
- Enter their personal information
- Toggle on the Administrative Access slider
- Select the desired role from the list
- Select the groups for access
- Confirm and send the invite
To assign roles to existing people in your organization:
- Go to the People tab in the Uber for Business dashboard
- Select the team member receiving updated permissions
- Select Edit
- Choose the new role from the drop-down list
- Select Save
Important reminders
You can assign users to multiple roles. Assigned roles will appear in the user’s profile on the People tab.
You can add users to multiple groups in the same organization, so they can use different Uber for Business services.
The dashboard organizes user roles in the below order. Any role(s) held by a user will appear separated by commas. Users without a role are classified as employees.
- Admin
- Coordinator
- Reviewer
- Sustainability Manager
To assign a Sustainability Manager at the parent level, contact your Uber rep.
About the reviewer role:
- Existing will be migrated to the new role.
- Reviewers will receive weekly review report emails, asking them to accept the linking invitations if not complete.
- All trip reviewers will appear on the dashboard in the People tab, which will increase the total number of people on certain dashboards.
- There are no changes to the current trip review experience.
